A Honolulu fire helicopter airlifted a woman off Diamond Head Trail yesterday after she bumped her head.

The California woman, who is in her 40s, fainted and hit her head about a quarter-mile from the rim about 12:30 p.m., said Honolulu fire Capt. Terry Seelig.

Firefighters hiked up to the woman and assisted her into the helicopter, which took her to an ambulance. The woman’s injuries were non-life-threatening and she was alert and conscious, Seelig said.
