CrimeStoppers issued an alert for the car with the above license plate.

Police last night found the car involved in a hit-and-run incident that followed an alleged car theft at Kahala Mall.

A tip led police to the light blue 1992 four-door Honda Accord, parked at the corner of Hunakai and Pueo streets, just a few blocks from the mall.

Earlier CrimeStoppers issued an alert for the car, with the license plate EPT 627.

Police classified the case as attempted murder after the victim said the suspects hit her with her own car as it was being stolen.

The incident happened at 5:55 p.m. Sunday in the upper-deck parking lot of the shopping mall in front of the Barnes & Noble store.

Police said the victim, 60, saw two men in her car as she approached it. When she got closer, the suspects fled in the vehicle, hitting her as they drove off.

The victim was taken to the Queen’s Medical Center in critical condition with head injuries.

Her condition was later upgraded to guarded. When she regained consciousness, the woman told investigators that she saw the suspects try to steal her car and attempted to stop them.

Police also were looking yesterday for two men in their 20s.

Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call CrimeStoppers at 955-8300 or *CRIME on a cellular phone. People can also text "CS808" and the message to 274637, or CRIMES.
