Police investigate two cases of children assaulting teachers
Police are investigating two separate cases of children assaulting teachers this week on Oahu.
A 35-year-old woman was recovering Tuesday after her student elbowed and head-butted her about 10:05 a.m. in Honolulu, police said. The woman complained of pain, swelling, and a small cut, police said.
Officers arrested the 13-year-old boy on suspicion of second-degree assault. Police would not name the school where the alleged assault happened.
In Waianae, a 41-year-old woman who was watching children on the school playground about 11:50 a.m. Monday told a 12-year-old boy to stop playing and go back to the classroom, police said.
The boy refused, and when the woman told him a second time, he slapped her in the face, police said. Officers were called and arrested the boy on suspicion of second-degree assault.
