Kaneohe man dies in laundry chute while apparently trying to get into his house
Police said a 47-year-old Kaneohe man who died in a laundry chute Monday was apparently trying to get into his house when he got stuck.
The man was found unresponsive at his Kaneohe Bay Drive home about 4:50 p.m. Monday, police said.
One way to get into the unit in the two-story building was through the laundry chute, police said. Foul play is not suspected.
The Honolulu Medical Examiner’s Office identified the man as Keith Chinen and deferred the cause of death.
