Get a taste of Kapolei

It’s time again for the Ko Olina Taste at Kapolei, featuring 24 tasting tents of top chefs and restaurants.

The event, which starts 6 p.m. Sept. 18, raises money to fund college scholarships for underprivileged youth of West Oahu and the Leeward Coast.

This year’s lineup includes Formaggio Grill, Aloha Salads, Auntie Pasto’s, Dole Plantation, Don Ho’s Island Grill, Indigo Restaurant, Hana Sushi Japanese Restaurant, Kolohe’s Bar and Grill, Off the Wall Restaurant and Bar, PF Chang’s China Bistro, Romano’s Macaroni Grill, Kapolei High School Culinary Arts Program, A Cup of Tea, Da Pokeman Fish Market, Da Spot, En Fuego Grill & Poke, Hapa Grill, Highway Inn, Menchies, Soul Patrol, Souvaly Thai Cuisine, Thai Kitchen, the Alley Restaurant Bar & Grill and Big City Diner.

Festival marks anniversary

In celebration of its 30th anniversary, the Royal Hawaiian Center will launch its first Taste of Helumoa Food & Wine Festival on Sept. 24 in the shopping mall’s Royal Grove.

The festival will feature food from nine restaurants, with each offering a wine pairing. They include Beijing Chinese Seafood Restaurant, Doraku Sushi, PF Chang’s Waikiki, Panya, Restaurant Suntory, Senor Frog’s Restaurant & Bar Honolulu, the Cheesecake Factory, Wolfgang’s Steakhouse and the Royal Hawaiian’s Azure.

The Brothers Cazimero will provide entertainment throughout the evening, which runs 6 to 9 p.m.
