A 25-year-old homeless man was charged with robbing another homeless man in the same camp at Mapunapuna.

Jose Luis Nieves Baez, 25, was charged with first-degree robbery and released yesterday after posting $15,000 bail.

Police said that on the morning of May 3, the 67-year-old victim awoke to Baez sitting on his chest and holding a metal object to his neck.

Baez searched the man’s pockets and fled with his property, police said.

Through an investigation, detectives identified Baez and arrested him this morning at Oahu Community Correctional Center.
