A ‘new’ Sublime heading to Honolulu for concert
More than a decade after the death of popular frontman Brad Nowell, Sublime has morphed into Sublime with Rome, which will appear in concert Friday, Nov. 19, at the Kaka‘ako Beach Park Amphitheater.
New lead singer/guitarist Rome Ramirez joins founding members drummer Bud Gaugh and bassist Eric Wilson in doing original Sublime fan favorites as “What I Got,” “Smoke Two Joints,” “Doing Time” and “Santeria,” including newer material from the reformed band’s upcoming album slated for release in 2011.
Accompanying the band on the Hawaii tour will be The Dirty Heads who currently have a #1 single with “Lay Me Down.” Rolling Stone magazine dubbed them “Best Reggae Rockers” as one of the best bands of 2010. More acts will be added to the concert bill.
Ticket prices are $35 general and $150 VIP, available online at www.ticketfly.com and www.bampproject.com, plus all Local Motion stores, the Pipeline Cafe box office, Navy ITT Offices and the U.S. Coast Guard MWR, and the University of Hawaii-Manoa Campus Center. Tickets go on sale Friday Sept. 10 starting at 9 a.m.
