Man arrested for allegedly smashing car windows with a bat in Kailua

Police yesterday arrested a 24-year-old man who allegedly smashed the front and rear windows of a car with a baseball bat in Kailua.

Two women, 42 and 46, were sitting in their vehicle about 7:30 p.m. Sunday when the man walked up and shattered the windshields, police said.

Shortly before midnight Monday, one of the women was arguing with the same man when officers heard her scream. The man drove off, but officers found him nearby, arresting him on suspicion of first-degree criminal property damage.
