A wallet left behind by a fleeing suspect led to the arrest of a 23-year-old car theft suspect last night, police said.

The suspect was seen sitting in the car owned by a 50-year-old Pearl City woman at about 7:50 p.m.. He fled when confronted by the woman’s son. But officers found a wallet that was apparently left behind.

Police located and arrested the owner of the wallet, a Pearl City man, on a contempt of court charge. He was arrested again at 10 p.m. for unauthorized entry into a vehicle at the Pearl City police station.
