No. 5 Wahine open up WAC play with sweep

Kanani Danielson put down 16 kills and Chanteal Satele added 14 to lead No. 5 Hawaii over Utah State 26-24, 25-17, 25-17 tonight in a Western Athletic Conference volleyball match at the Stan Sheriff Center. 

Brittany Hewitt added seven kills and was in on eight of the team’s 10 blocks as the Rainbow Wahine improved to 11-1 overall, 1-0 in WAC play. Hawaii needed 98 minutes to win its sixth straight.

The Aggies (12-2, 0-1) got 12 kills from Liz McArthur. 

Elizabeth Ka’aihue anchored Hawaii’s defense with 15 digs and added three aces.

The Wahine host Nevada (6-6, 0-0) tomorrow at 7 p.m.
