Injured man arrested following stabbing in Nanakuli

Police arrested a 30-year-old man on attempted murder and assault charges after allegedly stabbing two men in Nanakuli last night.

Police said the suspect, who has no local address, argued with a woman at a Nanakuli home at about 10 p.m. A 51-year-old man intervened and the suspect stabbed him in the stomach, according to police. A 54-year-old man also stepped in and was stabbed in the shoulder, police said.

The suspect fled but was found semi-conscious with head injuries a short distance away. Police said the 30-year-old was the “apparent victim of an assault.”

An ambulance took the 51-year-old man and the suspect to the hospital in serious condition. The 54-year-old suffered minor injuries and refused treatment at the scene.

The 30-year-old suspect’s condition improved to fair. Police arrested him at 2:40 a.m. at the Queen’s Medical Center.
