Mom survives stabbing in alleged suicide pact

A 48-year-old Kalihi woman who had entered into a suicide pact with her 79-year-old mother early yesterday morning allegedly stabbed the mother in the throat, police said.

The daughter could not go through with the suicide pact and called her sibling for help, police said.

The stabbing occurred at 6:30 a.m.

The mother was taken by ambulance to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

The daughter is being investigated on suspicion of second-degree attempted murder, but she had not been arrested, police said.
