Honolulu police arrested a 24-year-old Waipahu woman who allegedly got into a fight with a 37-year-old woman, tried to steal her cell phone and then scratched the victim’s car with a knife before fleeing.

Police said the incident happened at 10:50 a.m. yesterday in Waipahu. The two women argued as the 37-year-old woman was seated in her car. Police said the 24-year-old opened the car door,  punched the older woman and grabbed the victim’s cell phone.

The two women fought over the cell phone and when the older woman took it back, the suspect used a knife to scratch the woman’s car, police said.

Police arrested the 24-year-old at her Waipahu apartment at about 2 p.m. for robbery, unauthorized entry into a motor vehicle and criminal property damage.
