Police arrested a 21-year-old Kaneohe Marine on suspicion of attempted second-degree murder for allegedly stabbing a 27-year-old fellow Marine in Kailua early Monday morning.

Police said the younger man allegedly stabbed the older man with a knife at 2:56 a.m. following an argument at Aikahi Shopping Center.

The 27-year-old man was taken to the Queen’s Medical Center in serious condition with stab wounds, police said.

Marine spokesman Maj. Alan Crouch said the 27-year-old has been upgraded to stable condition.

Both Marines are lance corporals stationed at Marine Corps Base Hawaii. The suspect serves in the infantry with Headquarters Company for the 3rd Marine Regiment.
