Former Kaneohe resident Dean Wilson is tied for third at the Open after shooting a 7-under 64 today for a 36-hole total of 9-under 133. He trails Rocco Mediate (65—129) by four shots and Ryuji Imada (67—132) by one.

He is tied for third with David Duval (65—133) after carding one bogey and eight birdies at the CordeValle Golf Club in San Martin, Calif. This is the third of five events in the fall season on the PGA Tour.

Wilson is trying to finish among the top 125 money winners in order to secure a tour card for 2011. He was No. 122 in 15 events with $709,170 coming into the tournament. A good showing over the weekend could help him regain his full status.
