Hyatt Waikiki resort honored

The Hyatt Regency Waikiki Beach Resort and Spa has received the 2010 MLT Vacations Quality Assurance Award.

The award recognizes hotels that achieve 99 percent customer satisfaction index and 99 percent product delivery performance with a minimum of 100 bookings. For the 2010 award, results were measured against the experiences of more than 450,000 customers who traveled with Delta Vacations, Continental Airlines Vacations and Worry-Free Vacations from the U.S. and Canada.

Out of the more than 700 hotels offered by MLT Vacations in Mexico, the Caribbean, Latin America, Hawaii and Las Vegas, only 117 qualified to receive the MLT Vacations Quality Assurance Award designation for 2010.


Poipu Bay course reopens Dec. 16

POIPU, KAUAI » The newly renovated Poipu Bay Golf Course is on schedule to reopen Dec. 16.

The course has been closed since April 1 to undergo a comprehensive upgrade of the greens.

In addition to the greens project, 21,000-square-foot clubhouse is undergoing refurbishment, including locker room renovation, new carpeting and repainting. The restaurant at the Clubhouse is closed.

The Golf Shop remains open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday-Saturday, and is closed on Sundays.


Maui Marathon’s 2011 dates set

The Maui Marathon & Half-Marathon recently announced the dates for the 2011 events have been set for Sept. 17-18, 2011.

"Planning for the 41st Annual Maui Marathon & Half-Marathon has already started," said Rudy Huber, Executive Director. "We’re looking forward to increasing participation and incorporating more cultural elements into the race."
