A 40-year-old Kapaa man died after jumping off a Kapaa bridge and hitting his head in the shallow water yesterday.
He was pronounced dead at Wilcox Hospital from his injuries.
Witnesses reported seeing the man leap off the Kapaa pedestrian bridge near the Kapaa Library about 2:12 p.m. yesterday.
A bystander pulled the man from the water, and another person performed CPR on the victim until rescue units arrived.
Police officers and fire fighters from the Kapaa station responded to the scene.
