President Obama is expected to participate in a tele-town hall event this afternoon in Hawaii to encourage voters to choose Democrats in tomorrow’s election.
The Hawaii-born president is scheduled to call in to the event between 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. The Democratic Party of Hawaii is using the event as part of its final get-out-the-vote drive.
Obama has previously recorded television advertisements on behalf of former U.S. Rep. Neil Abercrombie, the Democratic candidate for governor, and state Senate President Colleen Hanabusa, the Democratic candidate in urban Honolulu’s 1st Congressional District.
Also scheduled to be on the call are U.S. Sen. Daniel Inouye, who is seeking a ninth six-year term; state Senate President Colleen Hanabusa, who is running for the 1st Congressional District, and Neil Abercrombie, the Democratic gubernatorial nominee.
About 20,000 Hawaii residents were to be invited by automated telephone calls on Sunday.
The Democratic Party of Hawaii is hosting the event.
