Man charged in alleged home-invasion assault
A man who allegedly attacked a Pupukea resident in his home was charged today.
Christian Budroe, 40, of Wailua, was charged with first-degree burglary, first-degree terroristic threatening, and fourth-degree criminal property damage. He is being held on $50,000 bail.
The victim’s 46-year-old neighbor, who is a second suspect in the assault, remains in police custody and has not been charged.
Police said Budroe broke the window of the victim’s home at 59-420 Pupukea Road on Thursday and went in with the second suspect, then hit the 50-year-old victim with a metal pipe and threatened to kill him.
A motive was not immediately clear.
Both suspects fled when the man took the pipe.
Police said Budroe threatened a second victim with a knife and damaged his car.
Officers arrested Budroe, of Kukea Circle, at the scene.
The second suspect turned himself in on Friday and was arrested on suspicion of first-degree burglary and second-degree unlawful imprisonment.
