Police arrested a 26-year-old man after his ex-girlfriend told officers she fought him off with Mace after an argument, police said.

The 26-year-old woman attempted to turn her ex-boyfriend in to police on an outstanding warrant Sunday, police said. The man, who has no local address, confronted the woman in her vehicle and grabbed her arm, causing injury, police said. The woman drove away after spraying him with Mace.

She reported the incident to Kailua police, who located and arrested the man yesterday afternoon at a convenience store and service station on Kailua Road.

Police said the woman was treated for her injuries at a hospital.
