Montana State tops Central Michigan in OT in Rainbow Classic
Montana State outscored Central Michigan 9-2 in overtime to win 65-58 and even their record in the 47th Outrigger Hotels Rainbow Classic.
Rod Singleton scored a team-high 20 points on 7-for-10 shooting to lead the Bobcats (1-1), who stayed in contention for the Classic tournament title.
With the game tied at 56 in the final minute of regulation, the Bobcats missed on a Bobby Howard baseline shot and two putback attempts.
CMU got the ball out of bounds with 15 seconds left in regulation, but had to result on a Zeigler contested 3-pointer that hit back iron at the buzzer.
Trey Zeigler led the Chippewas (1-1) with 21 points on 8-for-16 shooting.
