Two men arrested in Makiki convenience store robbery
Two people were arrested and a third suspect is being sought following an armed robbery at a lower Makiki convenience store by three men last night.
Two suspects, one of them armed with a gun, entered the Flamingo Mart at Kinau and Piikoi streets while a third man stood guard shortly after 9 p.m.
The two men inside confronted the store employee and demanded money, police said. One of the men was armed with a firearm, police said. The employee fled the area and the suspects took merchandise from the store, police said.
The third man, standing watch outside the door, punched a customer trying to walk into the store, pulled out a knife and demanded his money.
The three fled the store and police were called. Police were able to find and two suspects, an 18-year-old man and a 16-year-old boy.
They are still seeking a third suspect, a male about 16.
