The filing deadline for those wanting to run for Todd Apo’s former Honolulu City Council seat is tomorrow.
The Office of the City Clerk says those seeking to be a candidate in the special vote-by-mail election for the council’s first district must file nomination papers by 4:30 p.m. Friday.
Candidates must be a registered voter and a resident of the district which extends from Ewa Beach to Waianae.
Apo resigned earlier this month to take a job with Walt Disney Parks and Resorts. He’s due to become the Hawaii director of public affairs for Disney, which is building a resort at Ko Olina.
