4-ton peace prize
A 9-foot-tall, 4-ton jade Buddha will be on display this weekend at the Hawaii Convention Center. The Jade Buddha for Universal Peace, valued at $5 million, is reportedly the world’s largest jade statue of its kind. The statue will be on view 9:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. tomorrow and 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Sunday as part of an exhibit featuring other holy relics and lion dancing, chanting, Dharma discussions, meditation and yoga.
