Police arrested a man in his 40s after a drug raid on a house last night that temporarily closed a portion of Houghtailing Street in Kalihi.

A police SWAT team and Kalihi Crime Reduction Unit officers raided the house at 1430 Houghtailing St. about 6:45 p.m.

Officers arrested the man on suspicion of two drug offenses involving crystal methamphetamine, said Honolulu Police Department Sgt. Sam Fontanilla. 

He said police obtained a search warrant after community complaints about drug activity at the house. The drug activity involved the use of drugs not its manufacture, he said.

Houghtailing was closed for less than an hour between Bernice and School streets during the raid.
