THOSE WHO HAVE EVERYTHING
1. Tiffany, renowned for making diamonds an option for day or night, has introduced a simple, elegant Elsa Peretti necklace for her, featuring a 4.10-carat round brilliant diamond in platinum on a black silk cord to make a subtle, confident statement with just about anything one wears. For him, how about a rocket ship bank in sterling silver? If you have to ask the price … Local company Maxi Hawaii, at 2310 Kuhio Ave. in Waikiki, offers silver lighters ($270) and chopsticks ($400), and even a sterling Gundam figure (price on request) for the die-hard fan.
2. The woman who has everything probably has a lot of precious baubles. Help her store them in a jewelry box of silk, with leather interior and jade closure, from Shanghai Tang at Ala Moana. Two sizes are available, at $205 and $215.
3. Let him cradle his precious iPad in a Dior Homme Les Essentiels iPad Case, available in black leather at Dior Ala Moana and Waikiki for $660. Its book format allows the user to keep a writing pad on one side, provided he still knows how to use a pen.
Your game player may need an upgrade from a typical card or backgammon set. Pick up a deck of Hermes playing cards ($80) and deliver it in its own case ($210), or pick up Hermes leather backgammon set for $2,075. For links lovers, there are golf tees for $630. The outdoorsman on your list might find happiness with the luxury retailer’s Swiss Army Knife with USB plug-in and its own leather case ($520).
Wine connoisseurs never return home from travels without special vintages. Help them protect their investments with the Vinni bag ($28), a lightweight, inflatable travel bag designed to protect wine (optimal for 750-ml bottles), liquids and fragile items, as well as your other belongings from impacts or leaks. It stores flat, rolled or folded, and meets all TSA and airline requirements. It also looks a whole lot better than a plastic bag. It’s available at Bag ‘n Baggage at Ala Moana Center.

TEENAGERS
4. A Juicy Couture toggle charm bracelet with heart charm is pretty in itself at $42 in silver-tone plate or 14K yellow gold-plated brass, but what makes it really fun is dressing it up with charms ($42 to $58) to suit a girl’s personality. There are Christmas-themed charms ranging from a Yorkie in a sleigh to a gingerbread man. Non-Christmas themes include maracas, the Eiffel Tower, a toucan and yard gnome.
5. Past a certain age, Disney ceases to be cool, right? But there’s a reason the House of Mouse has survived more than 60 years. With the rise of the vinyl toy, the Disney Store at Ala Moana Center offers its own double mouse-eared 3-inch-tall Vinylmation figures to suit every taste, whether your giftee’s preferences veer toward pretty pink, dark and gloomy Tim Burton creations, or lucha libre figures, at about $9.95 each. Three- ($8.95) or 9-inch blanks ($39.95) are available to allow creative types to create their own Vinylmation character.
What teenager isn’t fascinated by things that glow in the dark? At the As Seen on TV store, there is a laser light projector ($119.95) that brings a little bit of nightclub ambience into the home, shooting dancing beams of light onto floors and walls, for those moments when your teen just needs to turn out the lights, turn up the music, and veg.
Tokidoki has both a female and male following. Girls can fill their whole vanity with Tokidoki makeup, a travel dryer ($29), flat iron ($59) and more, from Sephora. At Animation Addict, also at Ala Moana, there are Tokidoki vinyl figures, as well as two-pillowcase sets for $30.99.
For music wherever your teen calls home, Mobi makes a line of designer micro portable Headphonies speakers in everything from Hello Kitty, Skully and sumo motifs, ($20 or two for $30) at the Mobi PCS store at Windward Mall. They’re lightweight and about 3 inches tall. Stand ’em up, plug em into your computer, iPhone or iPod, and catch the beats.
