Drowning victim is identified
A man who drowned off Diamond Head two days ago was identified today by the Honolulu Medical Examiner’s Office as 52-year-old Jinichi Tokuda.
Tokuda’s hometown is not yet known, said the office, which requested the public’s help to identify Tokuda yesterday.
Bystanders pulled him from the water at the surf spot “Lighthouse” off Beach Road about 3:40 p.m. Thursday. He died less than 20 minutes later.
He may have been snorkeling, an city official said.
