Power restored to Ala Moana Center
Power was restored at Ala Moana Center this morning and approximately 45 stores that lost service — including Macy’s and Shirokiya — were expected to reopen at noon today, Ala Moana officials said.
Ala Moana has 290 stores and most were unaffected by the outage that began with an equipment fire at Hawaiian Electric Co.’s Makaloa substation at 7:30 a.m.
A HECO spokesman said power was restored to customers around 11 a.m.
