Answer these, and you’re doin’ the Tulsa shuffle
In a few days at Aloha Stadium, Hawaii and Tulsa resume their legendary, storied college football rivalry in the Sheraton Hawaii Bowl.
OK, so it isn’t quite all that. They’ve played eight times, UH winning five.
But a good show is expected Friday. The Warriors and Golden Hurricane both have great offenses this year. Since Hawaii’s defense is much better than Tulsa’s and the Warriors are at home, I pick UH to win decisively. Final score? Let’s say 48-31.
Don’t forget, the schools do share some sports history. They were conference co-habitants, as both played in the Western Athletic Conference from 1996 through 2005. They even met two other times for no apparent reason.
With bowl week upon us, now’s a good time to brush up on some Tulsa trivia, including from times when its path crossed with UH.
Take this too seriously at your own risk, but you can consider yourself a Golden Hurricane expert if you get eight out of 10 right.
