3 men rob Kalakaua Avenue market
Police are looking for three masked robbers who held up a convenience store on Kalakaua Avenue yesterday afternoon.
The men entered Hanarum Market at 1602 Kalakaua Ave. about 12:40 p.m. and brandished a handgun or a BB gun, according to initial police reports.
The men took cash and an employee’s purse, then fled in a brown, 4-door Toyota Corolla with license plates GVS 609, a car that was later reported stolen. It fled the scene, heading east on Philip Street.
Police described the men as in their 20s. One man wore a green-and-red shirt and another wore a red shirt. Police did not immediately have a description of the third robber.
Woman allegedly hits man with light
Police arrested a 23-year-old Waianae woman who allegedly hit her boyfriend yesterday with a plug-in spotlight while he was driving in Kapolei.
The boyfriend, 19, and the woman were arguing about 10:30 a.m. when the woman threw the spotlight from the rear seat, hitting the man on the right side of his face, causing a minor injury, police said.
Officers arrested the woman at Laulaunui Street on suspicion of assault and three contempt warrants.
Homeless man charged in sex assault
A 22-year-old homeless man has been charged with sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl in Waikiki.
Nicholas Ken Whitehead was charged Friday with two counts of first-degree sexual assault. He is being held at the main police cell block unable to post $11,000 bail.
Police said the girl reported Whitehead sexually assaulted her in Waikiki about 8 p.m. Thursday.
Officers arrested him at 2755 Monsarrat Ave. at 1:15 a.m. Friday.
