Helicopter rescues two hikers near Pu’u ‘O’o volcano
A Hawaii County rescue helicopter rescued two women who got lost on the trail to the Pu’u ‘O’o volcano yesterday afternoon.
Firefighters said the women, ages 31 and 20, wandered into the rain forest and weren’t able to get back on the main trail.
They called 9-1-1 at about 3 p.m. and the helicopter located the women and took them out of the forest.
Firefighters said the women were not injured.
