Lt. Gov. Brian Schatz has named an aide who will be in charge of finding more federal dollars for Hawaii.

In a statement yesterday, Schatz said he had selected Lynn Heirakuji to be director of the Fair Share Initiative, an effort initiated by Gov. Neil Abercrombie to funnel more federal funds to the islands.

Schatz is in overall charge of the effort.

Heirakuji had been deputy assistant secretary of the Army for personnel oversight.

Schatz also named Dale Chikuami Hahn as a senior adviser for policy matters.

She had been an independent consultant on legislative and administrative matters for Princess Cruises and Holland America Line.
