Korean networks recently held their drama awards and here are some of the results:
For KBS: The Grand Prize went to Jang Hyuk for his role in "Chuno" ("Slave Runners"), with Top Excellence awards to Kim Gab Soo, Jeon In Hwa and Moon Geun Young. Oh Ji Ho won Best Actor in a Drama Series.
For SBS: The Grand Prize went to Go Hyun Jung for "Daemul," her second such honor. Top Excellence Awards for Drama Special went to Ha Ji Won ("Secret Garden"), Lee Jae Yong ("Daemul") and Lee Soo Kyung ("Daemul").
THIS WEEK’S SYNOPSES
"IT’S OKAY, DADDY’S GIRL"
Tonight at 6:45 p.m.: Eun-hwan and Chae-ryung are investigated for Deok-gi’s death, and Chae-ryung asks Jong-seok for help. Jong-seok tells his parents he killed a man, and his parents buy out Deok-gi’s parents and blackmail Byung-chun to hide their son’s crime. Eun-hwan has a stroke when he hears the results of Deok-gi’s autopsy.
Tonight at 7:45 p.m.: Jin-gu takes Eun-hwan to his father’s hospital, and Dr. Hong performs the surgery. Jin-gu still pursues the wedding with Ae-ryung even after he hears about her family’s predicament. Wook-gi tells Chae-ryung to hold off on paying the settlement money, but Jong-seok’s parents push her to settle right away.
Tomorrow at 7:45 p.m.: Shin-yong asks Yeon-woo not to run the story on the congressman, but to check his sources. Meanwhile, Congressman Park’s wife tries to replace Mo-roo. Shin-yong suspects Congressman Jung of foul play. But Bomi takes care of the problem, making Mo-roo angry with Shin-yong. Dallae’s dad acts like he’s going to jail so that Dallae won’t give up her acting career out of guilt.
Tuesday at 7:45 p.m.: Bok-hee tells Mo-roo to stay away from Bomi. But Bomi plans to stay very close to Mo-roo. Dallae decides to do an indie film, but Bok-hee thinks it’s a waste of time. The two struggle with this decision because Dallae’s very firm about doing it. Congressman Park invites Bomi to join his team. She manages to buy Mo-roo time. And Shin-yong praises the congressman’s wife on TV, which scores a lot of points for Mo-roo with the congressman. Bok-hee’s surprise on the show pays off and they’re an instant hit on the internet.
Wednesday at 7:45 p.m.: Hyerim gets sent to Somalia as a presidential envoy to save the hostage. She returns home after saving the hostage successfully and many reporters greet her at the airport.
Thursday at 7:45 p.m.: Hyerim announces her candidacy for president and Taesan asks Son Bonshik to get as much information about Hyerim as possible. Doya finds out that Sanho Co. has been funding Taesan illegally and meets Taesan to show him the data. Hyerim asks Saejin if she could manage her funds for the campaign and Saejin decides to join Hyerim’s election campaign.
Friday at 7:45 p.m.: Joo-won comes to work and takes the escalator as usual, to female employees’ delight. Ah-young tries to say hi to him, but he ignores her. Ra-im comes to Joo-won’s office to pick up her cell phone, and she tells him she never wants to see him again.
Saturday at 7:45 p.m.: Ra-im is sitting lone in a cafe enjoying her cappuccino and going over her action sequence. Joo-won appears before her and tells her he plans to fire Mr. Kim, his secretary for letting Ra-im forge his signature.
