A 53-year-old man, upset because a woman stole money from him, went home and stuck a rifle in his 74-year-old father’s chest Wednesday in Pearl City, police said.

The man returned to his Hoohaku Street home irate after the woman, whom the man met recently, stole money from his wallet while they were at the beach.

He began arguing with his father about 2:15 p.m., then pulled out the rifle and threatened to shoot him, placing the gun against his father’s chest, police said.

Officers arrived and arrested him on suspicion of first-degree terroristic threatening.

After he was placed in the back of a police cruiser, the man kicked out the side rear window and was also arrested on suspicion of third-degree criminal property damage, police said.

Officers also recovered five rifles at the home and were trying to determine who owned them.
