Gov. Neil Abercrombie is looking for a few good appointees to place on more than 150 state boards and commissions.
A statement from the governor’s office on Wednesday said applications are being accepted on its website, http://hawaii.gov/gov.
Members of the public can apply for positions or recommend someone else.
The statement noted that one of the panels to which Abercrombie wants to appoint is the now-elected state Board of Education.
Voters in November approved a constitutional amendment allowing the governor to choose the board’s members. But the Legislature has yet to pass implementing legislation delineating the specific rules by which a governor can name members to the board.
