Wahine basketball team matches worst WAC start
The Hawaii women’s basketball team equaled its worst start in 15 seasons of competition in the Western Athletic Conference after a 79-57 loss to Fresno State tonight at the Save Mart Center in Fresno, Calif.
Last-place UH (6-13, 0-6 WAC) lost its seventh straight game overall and 16th consecutive WAC road game going back to 2008-09.
Defending regular-season champion FSU (13-6, 4-1) shredded UH from long range with 11 3-pointers and collected 11 steals.
The Bulldogs beat the Rainbow Wahine for the 10th straight time and 16th time in the last 17 meetings going back to 2004.
Senior forward Allie Patterson scored a team-high 14 points on 7-for-9 shooting for UH. But no other Wahine player scored more than eight points.
Freshman wing Shawna Kuehu had an all-around game of six points, five assists, five rebounds and three blocks.

Forward Hayley Munro had a game-high 18 points for the Bulldogs, who had four players score in double figures.
