Kualoa car-jacking suspect Scott Lee was brought into the Kaneohe Police Station for booking Wednesday (Jan. 26) evening after receiving treatment at Castle Medical Center.

Prosecutors  have charged a 30-year-old Enchanted Lake man who allegedly botched a car jacking and hid in a Kaaawa home Wednesday, forcing police to close Kamehameha Highway for about three hours.

Scott V. Lee, of Kahili Street, was being held on $200,000 bail at the main police station, pending an inital court appearance.

He is charged with first-degree robbery, second-degree robbery, two counts of second-degree burglary, and two counts of use of a firearm in a felony.

Police said Lee carried a rifle when he confronted a 41-year-old man at a home about 1:30 p.m. Wednesday. He demanded the man’s money and property before taking items and fleeing on foot.

Lee then tried to stop several vehicles on Kamehameha Highway and ordered a 19-year-old woman out of her vehicle as it slowed in traffic before punching her as she drove off, police said.

He entered an empty home nearby until surrendering to SWAT officers about 4:30 p.m.

Police closed Kamehameha Highway near Kualoa Ranch about 2 p.m. and reopened the road shortly before 5 p.m.
