First direct charter flight from China lands today at Honolulu Airport
The first charter flight to fly directly from China to Hawaii is due to land Sunday afternoon.
The Hawaii Tourism Authority says 263 passengers are expected to arrive in Honolulu today as part of a tour package designed by China CYTS Tour Holding Co.
They’ll be flying China Eastern Airlines and are due to be greeted at the airport by flower lei, hula dancing, and live Hawaiian music.
Lt. Gov. Brian Schatz and David Uchiyama, the Hawaii Tourism Authority’s vice president of brand management, are also to meet the plane.
The flight is the first of three charters scheduled by China Eastern Airlines.
