Police hold man in alleged abuse and violation of restraining order

Police arrested a 32-year-old man today after he allegedly violated a temporary restraining order, abused a woman and smashed her cell phone when she tried to call police.

The incident occurred around 1 a.m. in Waipahu.

According to police, the man entered the woman’s home — in violation of the court order, yelled at her and shoved her outside.

The woman got into her parked car and tried to call police, but the man reached inside, grabbed the phone and broke it on the ground before leaving.

The woman called police from a neighbor’s house. Police located the suspect and arrested him for unauthorized entry into a motorized vehicle, abuse and a TRO violation.
