Hawaii’s Linsky on watch list

Hawaii pitcher Lenny Linsky was named to the Collegiate Baseball Writers Association Stopper of the Year Watch List.

Linsky was one of the top closers in the nation last season. He notched 12 saves and posted a 4-0 record with a team-low 1.64 ERA. He was also named to the preseason All-Western Athletic Conference team.

The Rainbows open on Feb. 18 at Les Murakami Stadium against No. 9 Oregon, kicking off a four-game series.

Ostrowski service time changes

The time of Sunday services for Damian "Kui" Ostrowski, the father of University of Hawaii athlete Miah Ostrowski, has been changed.

The new times are 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. for visitation and 6:30 to 7:30 for services at Central Union Church.

Kui Ostrowski was a former basketball player of the year and state champion at Maryknoll.

Ostrowski died on Jan. 26 of heart failure. He was 43.
