HONOLULU » A Big Island man has been found guilty of fatally beating his pregnant girlfriend in 2005.

KHON reports that a jury on Tuesday found Marwan Jackson guilty of manslaughter, but not a more serious charge of second-degree murder, in the death of Sarah Fey.

Police say the beating left Fey brain dead. She was flown to Queen’s Medical Center on Oahu and kept on life support for two weeks before doctors were able to deliver her baby boy.

Fey was taken off life support following the birth.
