Possible charges considered in crash involving Brennan

Big Island police turned over to the Prosecutor’s Office two negligent-injury cases against the driver of a sport utility vehicle, in which former University of Hawaii quarterback Colt Brennan was a passenger.

The Prosecutor’s Office will review the cases to determine whether charges should be brought against the SUV driver, Brennan’s girlfriend, Shakti Stream.

The Nov. 19 head-on collision in North Kona resulted in the driver of the other car, Dr. Theresa Wang, suffering traumatic injuries, including brain and spinal injuries, multiple broken bones and a collapsed lung. Wang also suffered a stroke and was in a coma.

Wang sued Stream in December.

Brennan suffered serious injuries, including a head injury, a broken collarbone and injury to four ribs, but said last month that he has no vivid memory of the crash. Stream suffered a shoulder injury.
