Rainbow Wahine fall at Nevada

The Hawaii women’s basketball team couldn’t make it three Western Athletic Conference wins in a row, losing 69-42 at Nevada tonight.

UH (8-16, 2-9 WAC) dropped into a tie with Boise State for eighth place with five regular-season games to play.

The Wahine were outscored 37-19 in the second half and lost their 18th consecutive WAC road game dating back to 2008-09. UH shot a dismal 23.3 percent (14-for-60 shooting) compared to 36.2 percent for UNR.

Senior guard Megan Tinnin led UH with 11 points off the bench in 15 minutes of play.

Wolf Pack guard Tahnee Robinson scored a game-high 24 points on 9-for-21 shooting. UNR beat UH for the second time in two weeks and improved to 17-7 and 6-5 in the WAC.

UH continues its three-game road trip at New Mexico State on Tuesday.
