UH baseball: Hawaii evens LMU series at 1-1
Sean Montplaisir went 3-for-4 with two doubles and an RBI and Jeff Van Doornum added an RBI double to help Hawaii defeat Loyola Marymount 3-2 this afternoon at Page Stadium in Los Angeles.
Connor Little (1-0) picked up his first win, allowing six hits and two runs in 7 1/3 innings, the longest outing of his UH career. Closer Lenny Linsky struck out Bret Dahlson to end the game and earn his second save.
The Rainbows (4-5) evened the series at a game apiece, handing the Lions (8-3) their second loss in three games.
Michael Blake had two hits and AJ Bayus, who started at third base, had an RBI single for his first UH hit.
Zack Swasey singled and scored in the first inning, extending his hitting streak to eight games.
Game 3 is scheduled for 11 a.m. tomorrow. Alex Capaul (0-1, 3.18) is expected to start for Hawaii.
