Search continues for 2 men in Hilo attempted robbery

 

Big Island police continued searching for 2 men who tried to rob a 57-year-old Hilo man in the parking lot of a fast food restaurant last night.

Police said the men tried to take the man’s wallet between 9 and 10:30 p.m. while he was in the McDonald’s restaurant parking lot at 255 Kinoole St.

One of the robbers is described as 5-feet 11-inches tall with a husky build and shoulder-length black hair. He was a baseball cap backward. The other was described as 6 feet tall and 185 pounds with short hair and diamond earrings.

Police are looking for a couple who helped the victim and for any other witnesses who were in the area during the robbery attempt.
