» Garth Nakamura of Wailuku received five years of probation and must pay $11,000 in fines for helping run a sports-betting operation. A Neighbor Islands brief on Page B2 Sunday gave an incorrect first name.
» The Rev. Eric Matsumoto, incoming bishop of Honpa Hongwanji Mission of Hawaii, said: "We must make ‘Hongwanji’ a household word. … Our temples should be a community gathering place offering programs that will help people in the community." The quote was attributed to Alton Miyamoto in a Page B5 story Saturday.
» Taiko drummer James Rivers of the Pacific Buddhist Academy was pictured on Page B2 yesterday. The caption misidentified the performer as Kyle Villa.
» Violet Horvath is first vice president of the Hawaii Coalition Against Legalized Gambling. Her last name was misspelled and her title was listed as associate director in a Page B5 article Saturday.
