Tickets going on sale for UH men’s basketball CIT game

Hawaii (18-12) is eliminated from the WAC tournament after today’s 75-74 loss to San Jose State, but athletic director Jim Donovan announced after the game that UH will host Portland in the CollegeInsider.com Postseason Tournament on Tuesday. He added that if Hawaii wins it might host a second-round game March 18.

UH season ticket holders will receive an informational e-mail tomorrow on how to purchase tickets. Their seats will be held until Friday evening, then tickets go on general public sale Saturday at noon.

“We will be selling tickets at a lower rate than the regular season as a big mahalo to our fans who have supported the team all season long,” Donovan said. “It’s important that we have good crowds, so we can demonstrate to postseason tournaments that we can draw well for these events at home.”

UH’s last home postseason game was in 2004, a win over Nebraska in the NIT.

For adults, lower-level seats are $24 for non-season ticket holders and $18 for season ticket holders. Upper-level seats are $16 for non-season ticket holders and $12 for season ticket holders.

Tickets will be available at www.hawaiiathletics.com or at the Stan Sheriff Center box office.

Television is pending for the game.
