Portland defeats Hawaii 5-1
Portland starter Chris Johnson combined with three other pitchers on a three-hitter to help the Pilots defeat Hawaii 5-1 in the opener of a four-game series tonight.
A Les Murakami Stadium crowd of 1,133 witnessed UH lose its third in a row. Kolten Wong had two of Hawaii’s three hits.
Johnson (1-1) allowed both hits and one run with a walk and six strikeouts to earn his first win.
Matt Sisto (0-2) took the loss, giving up one earned run in 6 2/3 innings. He walked five batters after entering the game without a walk allowed all season.
Zack Swasey went 0-for-4 to end his hitting streak at 11 games.

The four-game series continues Friday at 6:35 p.m. Right-hander Connor Little (1-0, 2.60) will take the mound for UH and oppose Portland’s Owen Jones (1-0, 2.76).
