A 47-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of robbery after fighting with security guards who stopped him for alleged shoplifting in Waikiki, police said.
When the guards tried to stop him after seeing him leaving with an item about 9:30 p.m. Saturday, the man used force against them, police said.
He was arrested at the scene.
The guards sustained minor injuries, but declined treatment. The man was treated at the hospital for minor injuries sustained in the scuffle.
Police recovered the undisclosed stolen item at the scene.
