Radford has hired Brandy Richardson to be the new varsity girls basketball coach.

Richardson replaces outgoing coach Tani Almont-Dutro, who resigned recently and has applied for the vacant varsity boys coaching position.

"Tani’s a great coach," Radford athletic director Kelly Sur said. "Brandy’s philosophy in terms of how she wants to run a program fits in with our direction. She brings a wealth of knowledge."

Richardson was player of the year at Kalaheo before playing at UC Santa Barbara.

The sophomore, who played safety and cornerback, had six interceptions in nine games at the New Level 7-on-7 Tournament at UNLV over the weekend. He also had two scoring catches.
